WHY STUDY ABROAD IN ISTANBUL ?

Istanbul is a profoundly diverse and multi-cultural city. Throughout the ages, Istanbul has been the capital of three of the longest-lived empires in history and a centre for monotheistic beliefs. Known by the names Byzantium, Constantinople, Augusta Antonina, Nea Roma, Kostantiniyye, Dersaadet, Tsargrad, Istanpolin, Stamboul, and Istanbul, the city was and continues to be the gravitational center of the Orthodox Christian, Balkan, Caucasian, Anatolian, and to an extent Central Asian worlds. Such a long experience enabled Istanbul to design a sui generis concept of cosmopolitanism. The Council of European Union designated Istanbul as European Capitals of Culture for 2010. Today, the world and its dynamics are different. But Istanbul has retained its vibrant heritage. Istanbul, which found the formula for a perfect harmony and which once brought different ‘others’ together, now wants to perform this role in culture and arts. Istanbul can serve as a showcase of living together.
